The Shipley's have been in ministry since 1982. After serving for many years in the pastorate the Shipley's responded to the call to train leaders in Africa in 1999. Their first term of missionary service wan spent in Ethiopia. In early 2004 the Shipley's moved to Kigali, Rwanda working with Africa Theological Training Service (ATTS) as the Faculty Enrichment and Development Coordinator. Their purpose is captured in the following statement: The ATTS Faculty Enrichment and Development office serves to address the spiritual and ministry needs of trainers in Africa so that all training may effectively contribute to the accomplishment of the Great Commission.
October 2005 the the Shipley's moved to Kampala, Uganda to work with the Uganda Assemblies of God in addition to their regional work. Currently the Uganda Assemblies of God is involved in a relief project in Northern Uganda and planted over 2800 churches from July 2008 to July 2010.
