The Johnsons have been working in Brazil as Assemblies of God World Missionaries since 1990. Working with Bernhard Johnson Ministries, they are directing Brazil Extension School of Theology, Brazil Advanced School of Theology and Pentecostal Bible Institute that has a total of 21,000 students preparing for ministry.
The Johnsons also direct Children of Brazil Outreach that has built 14 Christian schools and day care centers in needy areas and provides Bible curriculum for 25,000 students in 100 schools for their religious education classes required by law. Since 1991, they have hosted 14 free medical clinics in needy areas with teams sent down by HealthCare Ministries. The teams have ministered to nearly 14,000 patients, of which 3,750 have received Jesus as Savior while others have been healed, delivered from demon possession and baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Terry serves as assistant Presbyter for the Varginha Section of churches founded by his missionary grandparents in the south east region. The Johnson family is involved in their local church in the city of Campinas, helping in the music department, teaching Sunday School classes and leading the Jr. High and High School youth group since January 2004.
